The basic salary will be determined by the years’ experience.
Plus ICU allowance.
Our client contributes to a Pension fund and they pay a full 13th cheque.
Desired experience and qualifications:
- Critical Care qualification.
- ICU working experience.
- Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse.
- Compliance with the SANC code for a Registered Nurse and all applicable health care legislations.
- Shifts Working.
- Advanced Computer Literacy.
Duties and responsibilities will include:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill and high-dependency patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
- Monitor and assess patients’ vital signs, neurological status, and overall condition continuously.
- Operate and monitor advanced life-support equipment, including ventilators, cardiac monitors, infusion pumps, and dialysis machines where applicable.
- Administer prescribed medications, intravenous therapies, blood products, and treatments accurately and safely.
- Recognise and respond promptly to changes in patient condition and medical emergencies.
- Assist doctors and specialists during examinations, procedures, and emergency interventions.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualised patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and nursing documentation.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control protocols.
- Perform wound care, pressure area management, and other specialised nursing procedures.
- Educate and support patients’ families regarding treatment plans, progress, and discharge requirements where appropriate.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including doctors, physiotherapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in patient handovers and ensure continuity of care between shifts.
- Adhere to hospital policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Mentor and support junior nursing staff, enrolled nurses, and nursing assistants when required
