Salary: Will be determined by working experience, plus a company contribution to a Provident Fund.
Desired experience and qualifications:
- Matric
- Feed mill experience is a must
- Tertiary qualification in Production will be advantageous
- BSc Agri / BA degree will be beneficial
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an FMCG manufacturing environment
- Minimum of 2 years’ management experience within an FMCG environment
- Firm knowledge and understanding of the following legislation & systems:

Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
Duties and responsibilities will include:
- Plan and manage production schedules according to orders and product changes.
- Ensure adequate raw material and finished stock levels.
- Participate in planned maintenance and monitor plant performance.
- Ensure pellet quality meets specifications.
- Manage raw material and production line/system flushing.
- Supervise production line inspections and maintain critical control points.
- Monitor equipment performance and Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE).
- Implement safety standards and ensure compliance with the OHSA.
- Utilise Management Information Systems (MIS) effectively.
- Investigate deviations and report equipment failures to Maintenance.
- Ensure accurate completion of production KPIs and batch, shift and pellet reports.
- Manage workforce performance, discipline, overtime, leave and manpower utilisation.
- Maintain up-to-date job descriptions and participate in recruitment.
- Train and develop production personnel on SOPs and operational requirements.
- Plan and monitor plant stock levels.
- Ensure correct PPE usage and employee compliance with safety regulations.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics.
- Control waste generation and maintain housekeeping standards.
- Assist with production budgeting, expense control and milling cost analysis.
- Compare batch reports with formulation requirements and report deviations.
- Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
- Communicate production statistics, backlogs and plant issues to management and staff.
- Ensure effective communication with customers, suppliers and internal departments.
- Enforce correct stacking, storage and GMP policies.
