Fire Service Technician: Gauteng

THIS IS A REMOTE POSITION!

Our client is seeking a qualified SAQCC-certified 1475 Technician with a strong background in installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fire extinguisher and hose systems.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in industrial or high-risk environments and a deep commitment to safety and compliance.

Minimum Requirements:

• SAQCC 1475 Registered – Compulsory
• Grade 12
• Experience in maintenance on portable fire extinguishers, reels and hydrants, or equivalent experience in the field.
• Ability to work in potentially challenging environments, including confined spaces and elevated locations.
• Fluent in English (Speak, Read, and Write)
• Valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle
• Must be willing to travel from time to time.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Maintenance and Inspections: Conduct regular maintenance and inspections on portable fire extinguishers, reels and hydrants to ensure they are in optimal working condition.
• Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnose and resolve issues with portable fire extinguishers, reels and hydrants quickly and efficiently, minimizing downtime and ensuring safety.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of system installations, inspections, repairs, and any changes made to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Collaboration and Compliance: Work closely with site management to ensure that all portable fire extinguishers, reels and hydrants are compliant with local, industry, and safety regulations.
