Role summary:

• Render and promote cost effective, safe, quality patient care in accordance with hospital standards and policies
• Responsible for direct and/or indirect patient care for assessing, planning, executing and supervising the implementation of care to meet a patient’s needs

Below requirements:

• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council as an Enrolled Nurse
• Compliant to applicable SANC code and Health care legislation for an Enrolled Nurse
• Computer literate
• Available to work shifts as requested by the Employer
• Updated Basic Life Support (BLS) qualification by an accredited provider will be an advantage
• Previous nursing experience preferably in a Theatre and Cath lab

Job responsibilities:

• Accurate and legal recordkeeping to ensure safe patient care
• Function as part of a multidisciplinary team in order to render holistic patient care
• Maintain a safe environment that does not pose risks of medico-legal hazards
• Promotion of a patients’ health and safety
• Attend handover of report at shifts commencement
• Participate in the ward/unit’s quality improvement programme
• Effective communication skills with regards to patients regarding their care
• Able to effectively refer complaints to the Doctor or Registered Nurse in charge of the ward/unit
• Carry out all departmental tasks as assigned by supervisors and ensure timeous completion of these delegated tasks
