Salary: Negotiable, depending on experience
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Tertiary qualification in Agriculture/Food/Production an advantage)
- 3+ years’ abattoir management or supervisory experience
- Knowledge of Meat Safety Act, health & safety, animal welfare
- Staff management and disciplinary experience
- Strong admin and reporting skills
- Own transport and driver’s license
- Willing to work early mornings/weekends
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily slaughtering and processing operations
- Ensure compliance with hygiene, safety, and welfare standards
- Manage and train abattoir staff
- Monitor meat quality, grading, and yields
- Liaise with vets, inspectors, and auditors
- Handle admin, stock, maintenance, and reporting
- Investigate and resolve product or client issues
