Minimum Requirements:
- BCom in Accounting, Financial Management or a related field
- Professional qualification such as CA(SA), SAIPA, CIMA or ACCA
- Completion of articles at a recognised audit firm is essential
- Minimum of 5 years post-articles experience in industry
- Strong experience with group structures and trusts
- Solid knowledge of the South African business, tax and regulatory environment
- Experience with SARS submissions
- Experience in investment management and financial analysis
- Strong analytical, reporting, problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data
- Proficient in financial systems and Microsoft Excel
- The candidate must be based in George or Bloemfontein (Non-Negotiable)
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Act as the financial manager and financial analyst for a group of companies and associated trusts
- Provide overarching financial oversight across the group, focusing on strategy rather than day-to-day operational accounting
- Prepare, review and analyse management accounts, balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements
- Liaise directly with SARS, handle queries, audits, objections and submissions
- Manage and coordinate external audits, including preparation of audit files and interaction with audit firms
- Manage and evaluate investments, including cash management, investment portfolios and funding structures
- Provide financial analysis, forecasting and budgeting to support executive decision-making
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial legislation, accounting standards and governance requirements
- Identify financial risks and opportunities and make recommendations to improve profitability and sustainability
- Support directors and shareholders with financial insights, reports and strategic guidance
