HR Manager: Bloemfontein (12 months fix term position)

Salary: Negotiable, depending on the relevant experience.


Relevant tertiary HR qualification

3-4 years experience in a HR Management role

Must be willing to travel but not extensively

Must be in possession of a valid drivers licence

Proficient in English and Afrikaans – non-negotiable requirement

Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc)

Duties will include:

Recruitment and Selection:   

  • Enable the execution of best practice recruitment practices
  • Drive the recruitment process within line and identify recruitment requirements
  • Manage the recruitment process from scheduling interviews and ensure candidates fit the role and company culture
  • Coordinate and manage the orientation of new employees

Skills Development:

  • Compile and submit Work Skills Plan and Annual Training Report to the relevant SETA on behalf of the employer.
  • Act as medium for communicating information between the employer and the relevant SETA.
  • Consult and advise candidates on procedures for enrolling for studies
  • Compile and maintain an accurate Skills funding register and schedule of fees and workshops/conferences as well as manage all applications, renewals, and extensions
  • Keep records of results, payments, and certifications

Employment Relations:         

  • Management and advisory specialist to the organisation pertaining to the compliance and governance of all statutory regulatory requirements
  • Assist the organisation in managing all employee related disciplinary, grievance, incapacity, and retrenchment procedures
  • Drive and take ownership of all policy amendments, updates, and best practices
  • Ensure compliance with statutory display of all employee laws, e.g., Labour Relations Act, Employment Equity Act, Basic Conditions of Employment and Occupational Health and Safety Act

Employment Equity:

  • Prepare and Submit Employment Equity Report yearly

Job Profiling:

  • Complete job profiling based upon received job descriptions, linking the competencies also to the assessments that are going to be used to assess candidates and job grading 
  • Develop Competency-based Interview Guide templates and review HR and other MGH Policies
  • Source and coordinate IT & HR systems including service level agreements and negotiating prices for services
  • Coordinate Investment savings plan for MGH and Update organogram for MGH
  • Compliance officer for Covid -19 and keep records of employees
  • Ensure that health and safety policies and practices are in place
  • Ensure compliance with recruitment of Facilitators, Assessors and Moderators
  • Entering new entrants on the Sage System
  • Compiling Employment Contracts and extensions if applicable
  • Give strategic direction for IT Team
  • Assist with some Tender proposals and information required
